GNKK 2020 is now being composed and will release in October 2019.
2019
After successful editions of Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Noord-Brabant, we are launching the fourth edition of De Grote Nederlandse Kunstkalender this year: the GNKK 2020. A calendar in the form of a book, a 3 kg bundle of art from our own soil. Founder of Soba Studio, Sophie Bargmann, is editor-in-chief of the Art Calendar for the fifth year and has compiled an editorial team of professionals in the field of art, design, architecture, fashion and photography. From this comes a selection with established and upcoming Dutch art disciplined talent. The result is a beautiful tear-off calendar, so that you have another artwork at home each day.
2018
De Grote Nederlandse Kunstkalender is a yearly block calender with 365 participating artists. Each day presents a different work of art. Because this is the third year Soba Studio partners with De Grote Kunstkalender, we wanted to add something powerful to the launch event. We came up with the idea to connect de Bijenkorf’s artist in residence project “Room on the Room” to De Grote Nederlandse Kunstkalender. With their cultural partner Rijksmuseum they selected an artist from the calendar who had the chance to make a work of art in commission. Artist Krijn de Koning was picked and created an installation in de Bijenkorf Rotterdam during Art Rotterdam Week 2018. Furthermore, this is also the first time that Room on the Roof presents a project in de Bijenkorf Rotterdam.
2017
Soba Studio organised the launch event of De Grote Nederlandse Kunstkalender 2017 in KINO Rotterdam. This is the first national edition, after releasing the Rotterdamse Kunstkalender for 5 years and the Amsterdamse Kunstkalender for 3 years. The calendar shows the work of Dutch contemporary artists, both renowned and upcoming, in the fields of fine arts, design, graphic design, illustration, literature, fashion, photography and architecture.
2016
Sophie Bargmann was asked to be the editor in chief of De Grote Rotterdamse Kunstkalender and De Grote Amsterdamse Kunstkalender in 2016. Furthermore, we were responsible for content, event management, and pr of the two big art calendars. Where we worked with 24 editors, 75 funding companies and 730 artists. We celebrated the launch of the Rotterdam edition in the beautiful loft of Robert van Oosterom Studio at the Fenixloodsen and the launch of the Amsterdam edition with our friends of Cafe de Paris.
